Psychosomatic Education in Medical Schools

Abstract
|

|
The author surveied the present status of psychosomatic education in medical schools in Korea. All of the 14 medical schools are teaching psychosomatic medicine to some extent though number of hours and its content are various. For the further development and rapid hightening of the standards of psychosomatic education in medical schools the followings were pointed out.
1. The increase of number of hours in teaching psychosomatic medicine, both lecture and clerkship, as much as teaching staffs are requested.
2. The earlier beginning of teaching of psychosomatic medicine, its concept and knowledge, is desirable.
3. To improve the interdepartmental cooperation and _ to promote an enlightenment on psychosomatic medicine the refreshing course of training and continuing education are to be demanded.
4. The setting up of consultation liaison service is urgent so that psychosomatic education and practice could be carried out properly.
